Announcement from the Rector
In continuation of the announcement regarding Rev. Martin Callagham, I would like to inform you that the Vestries of All Saints Lockerbie and St John’s Moffat have decided to attend Rev. Martin’s last service, which will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday at All Saints, Gretna. Therefore, there will not be a Holy Communion Service on Sunday, 19th May, in both churches. Rev. Martin was the Priest-in-Charge of the Annandale Group, and All Saints Church Lockerbie and St John’s Moffat were part of that group. He led our churches sincerely and creatively. His commitment to the mission of God was well-reflected throughout his ministerial journey. His faithful ministry inspired all of us to worship God in our churches by experiencing God’s unconditional love.
Please keep Rev. Martin and his family in your daily prayers. May God bless them abundantly!
Those who are unable to go to the church, please join the Online Service, streamed by the Scottish Episcopal Church. https://www.scotland.anglican.org/broadcast-sunday-worship/
Christmas Carol Concert: Tuesday the 19th of December at 7.00 pm
Come and join us for a sing along evening of everyone’s favourite Christmas Carols. We may be in The Bleak Mid Winter but While Shepherds Watch Their Flocks By Night we can follow in the footsteps of Good King Wenceslas and Deck the Halls With Bows of Holly and Ding Dong Merrily On High as Hark The Herald Angles Sing of a Silent Night when Away in A Manger there was no crib for a bed. So Come All Ye Faithful to The Little Town of Bethlehem as we celebrate The First Noel, and We Wish You a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
The Annual Christmas Coffee Morning will take place next Saturday the 2nd of December in the Church from 10.30 am to 12 noon. We will have a raffle, cake stall, crafts, plants and tombola and I am hoping to arrange a visit from Santa so that we can all have a photo opportunity and perhaps encourage some families to visit us on the day. Raffle prizes and items for the cake stall will be gratefully received ideally by 10 am so that they can be priced and displayed. Abida has offered to prepare some authentic Indian food to sell so place your order with me by Thursday so I can let her know what to make. LynnePrhal@yahoo.co.uk

Christmas Arts and Crafts Fair
We are hosting a Christmas Arts and Crafts Fair downstairs in Lockerbie Town Hall on Saturday the 4th of November from 10.30am to 12.30pm. It will be more than twice the size of our earlier Easter Craft Fair this year which raised in the region of £340 for Church funds. Around twenty businesses will be attending including Natural Little Bee, who make natural skincare products from local beeswax and honey; Pinecone Pottery; Carol Ruddock
Jewellery; Scaur Glen Soap and KGR Glass Design plus many more. The church will also have a number of stalls including wooden Christmas decorations, a cake stall and a raffle containing donations of work from all the stall holders. Maryna, our organist, will also be
making traditional Ukrainian gingerbread biscuits and you will be able to pick up a recipe sheet and buy some of her tasty treats. Refreshments will be on sale with plenty of tables for you to sit at, take in the atmosphere, and have a chat before the raffle is drawn. If you can help out on the day or can make something for the cake stall please let me know as soon as possible. So come along, enjoy a cuppa and a slice of Abida’s cake, and do some Christmas shopping. Please spread the word about the Event as far and wide as possible to ensure a good turn out which would enable us to do the same again next year.
The Spring Coffee Morning

Donations for the raffle will be gratefully received, ideally by Sunday the 7th of May, with items for the cake stall and plants on the morning of the sale.
